Trying to Conceive? Supporting Your Body for Healthy Fertility
If you're trying to get pregnant and it’s taking longer than expected, you're not alone.
Many women experiencing fertility challenges are told their labs are “normal” — yet cycles remain irregular, ovulation is inconsistent, implantation doesn’t occur, or miscarriage becomes a painful part of the journey.
In many cases, the missing piece may not be structural or hormonal alone — but neurological.
Your reproductive hormones are regulated by the brain and nervous system. When your body is stuck in a chronic state of stress or survival mode, it may become more difficult to ovulate consistently, regulate cycles, or support implantation.
At Far Hills Family Chiropractic, our fertility care focuses on restoring nervous system regulation so your body can safely shift into the parasympathetic “rest and reproduce” state needed for conception.
The Nervous System & Fertility
Your reproductive hormones are regulated by communication between the brain and reproductive organs through the nervous system.
When the body is stuck in a chronic stress response — often referred to as “fight or flight” — it may become more difficult to:
Ovulate consistently
Regulate menstrual cycles
Support implantation
Maintain hormonal balance
A regulated nervous system allows the body to shift into a parasympathetic state — sometimes called the “rest and reproduce” state — which is necessary for healthy reproductive function.
At Far Hills Family Chiropractic, our fertility care focuses on supporting this brain-body connection so your body can adapt to stress more efficiently and create the internal conditions needed for conception.
Fertility & Chiropractic Care
Chiropractic care may support fertility by helping the body shift out of chronic stress patterns and into a more regulated state that is supportive of reproductive health.
1. Nervous System Stress Response
Chronic stress can keep the body in a constant state of “fight or flight,” making it more difficult to relax, regulate hormones, or support healthy ovulation and implantation. Gentle chiropractic care may help reduce nervous system tension and promote a shift into the parasympathetic “rest and reproduce” state that supports fertility and pregnancy.
2. Brain–Body Communication
The nervous system plays a key role in coordinating communication between the brain and reproductive organs. When spinal or pelvic misalignments are present, nerve signaling may become less efficient. Chiropractic adjustments aim to restore proper alignment, supporting clearer communication between the nervous system and the reproductive system.
3. Emotional & Physical Readiness
As the body becomes more balanced and regulated, many women report improved feelings of ease, resilience, and connection. This greater sense of physical and emotional wellbeing may help prepare the body for conception, pregnancy, and the transition into motherhood.
Fertility Challenges
One in seven couples will experience fertility challenges while trying to conceive or maintain a healthy pregnancy. A variety of factors may contribute to difficulty with conception, including:
Hormone imbalances (such as low estrogen or progesterone)
Irregular or anovulatory cycles
PCOS
Endometriosis
Multiple miscarriages
Low ovarian reserve or egg quality
Uterine or cervical abnormalities
Male factor concerns such as low sperm count, motility, or morphology
Common Fertility Concerns We Support
Chiropractic care and abdominal therapy may be incorporated as part of a holistic support plan for women experiencing:
Irregular or anovulatory cycles
PCOS
Endometriosis
Multiple miscarriages
Low ovarian reserve
Hormonal imbalances
Unexplained infertility
Stress-related cycle disruption
Pelvic tension or uterine misalignment
Approximately one-third of couples experiencing fertility challenges will receive an “unexplained” diagnosis. Even with these challenges, many individuals go on to conceive and have healthy pregnancies.
Our focus when working with women experiencing fertility challenges is to support nervous system regulation, body alignment, and natural physiological balance in preparation for pregnancy. In addition to chiropractic care, Dr. Sura may incorporate abdominal therapy (to support uterine alignment and pelvic blood flow), castor oil packs, herbal support, dutch hormone testing and education in the Fertility Awareness Method as part of a comprehensive approach.
Chiropractic Holistic Fertility Plan
Chiropractic care may be used as part of a holistic approach to supporting fertility by promoting nervous system regulation, pelvic alignment, and optimal communication between the brain and reproductive organs. Some case reports have described women conceiving after beginning regular chiropractic care. In one such report, three women experiencing difficulty conceiving sought chiropractic care after trying for several months to multiple years, including previous assisted reproductive attempts. Following a period of consistent care to support spinal alignment and nervous system function, each woman went on to conceive naturally. Another case report described two women with infertility concerns who were considering artificial insemination and became pregnant after undergoing regular chiropractic care. Many women choose to include nervous system–focused chiropractic care as part of a holistic fertility plan to support hormonal balance and reproductive health. Our clients often incorporate chiropractic alongside medical fertility care, acupuncture, nutritional therapy, or hormone support as part of a comprehensive approach.

Supporting Your Hormones at Home
Optimizing your nervous system during fertility and pregnancy goes beyond what happens in the office.
Many of the personal care and household products we use every day contain endocrine-disrupting chemicals that may interfere with hormone balance, thyroid function, detoxification pathways, and even baby’s developing brain and immune system. For women trying to conceive or currently pregnant, reducing environmental stressors can be an important step in supporting healthy ovulation, implantation, and fetal development.
We created a gentle guide to help you make simple non-toxic swaps at home that support both your hormones and your nervous system throughout preconception and pregnancy.
If you're preparing your body for pregnancy and would like to explore nervous-system–focused fertility support, we invite you to schedule a consultation at Far Hills Family Chiropractic.
